New Year, New Partner: Viking Cruises

In 2025 we want to send more travelers on soul fueling journeys all over the world! One of the ways we are able to do this is by partnering with some of the best brands in travel, like Viking Cruises. Voted number one in river cruising, ocean cruising, and expeditions by readers of Condé Nast Traveler, Viking is a consistently outstanding tour company that we are excited to bring to our clients at SoulVenture Travels.

Why we love Viking Cruises

No two cruise lines are built the same. Some are meant for families, some for young couples looking to party, and some for the leisure traveler hoping to dive into the rich cultures of their ports of call. Viking Cruises cater to this last type of traveler, those who want to take things slow, savor every moment of their journey, and spend more time in port.

Some of our favorite features of Viking Cruises include their smaller ship size, allowing for docking at lesser traveled ports, their variety of stateroom options with no inside cabins, their regional cuisine using locally-sourced ingredients, and their truly all-inclusive value featuring shore excursions, port taxes, Wi-Fi, and more. Service also shines on all Viking ships, with a top-of-the-line staff that takes pride in true hospitality. As of December 31, 2023, Viking maintained an 80% employee retention rate, showcasing their level of focus on retaining a happy, healthy, and experienced crew.

Not only does Viking know who they are as a brand, they also know who they are not, and they are very clear about it. All cruises are adult only, do not come with surprise fees, do not feature casinos or smoking, and are relaxed, immersive experiences.

With destination-focused, culturally-enriching itineraries all around the world, Viking has endless options for travelers seeking the best value in cruising.

River Cruising with Viking

As we’ve previously mentioned on our blog, river cruising is one of our favorite ways to travel. Instead of a slow-moving road trip or days spent at sea on an ocean liner, river cruising allows you to unpack only once, arrive in a new destination each day, and view castles, rolling landscapes, and riverside towns while cruising. Perfect for anyone prone to seasickness, river cruising is smooth sailing. Viking’s smaller, 190 passenger ships are also perfect for travelers who prefer a more intimate type of travel. Get to know fellow passengers, staff, and local destinations with relaxed sailing and more time spent in port.

Viking truly offers the widest selection of river cruises, with itineraries throughout Europe, Asia, Egypt, and the Mississippi. Feeling even more adventurous? Viking also offers combination cruises, with the best of both rivers and oceans in a single itinerary.

Ocean Cruising & Expeditions with Viking

A new year means new offerings! At SoulVenture Travels, we always strive to send our clients on adventures catered to their specific interests. By partnering with Viking, we have expanded our ability to offer unique experiences including ocean cruising and expeditions. Yes, we have previously sold ocean cruises, but not like this. Viking focuses on casual, relaxed cruising, with more time spent in port. In fact, most ports of call include overnights to ensure travelers get the most out of each destination. Additionally, Viking’s ocean ships carry only 930 passengers, making them much smaller than most ocean liners and able to reach unique, lesser traveled ports.

Expeditions are also one of Viking’s specialties. By collaborating with top cultural and scientific partners, Viking offers immersive expeditions to some of the most untouched corners of the world and some of the destinations you only thought you already knew. From Antarctica to the Mississippi, discovery is right around the corner with a Viking expedition.

With offerings from six continents, there is something for everyone on Viking. Want to learn more? Reach out to one of our travel experts today!
